Most frequent questions and answers about our Children's Martial Arts Program
No. Teaching respect, self-control, and responsibility is a core part of our Preschool and Kids Karate programs. Children learn when it is appropriate to use their skills—and, just as importantly, when it is not.
Rather than creating aggressive behavior, martial arts training helps children build confidence, humility, and kindness. Many parents notice their children become more capable of standing up to bullying while also showing greater respect for others both in and out of class.
Yes. For our Preschool Karate classes, parents remain in the room during class. This is an important part of our program and our family-oriented approach.
Having parents present allows you to see how your child is learning, understand how we teach, and pick up simple ways to support your child’s progress at home. It also helps young children feel comfortable, supported, and confident as they learn.
Our goal is to work together with families so children receive consistent guidance, encouragement, and structure both on and off the mat.
No uniform is required for the trial class. Once your child enrolls, their karate uniform is included as part of our special, so they’ll have everything they need to get started.
We make the process simple and welcoming, allowing your child to focus on learning, building confidence, and enjoying their classes from day one.
Martial arts can be a positive activity for many children, including those with ADHD. Our Preschool Karate classes are structured, engaging, and taught in a group setting while allowing each child to progress at their own pace.
Through clear instruction, repetition, and positive reinforcement, children practice focus, listening, self-control, and social interaction in a supportive environment. Every child is different, but many parents appreciate the balance of structure and movement that martial arts provides.
The best way to see if our program is a good fit for your child is to try a class and experience it firsthand.
Please bring a separate, clean pair of sneakers for your child to wear during class. We do not train barefoot, and having dedicated sneakers helps keep our training area safe and clean for everyone.
This also supports comfort and confidence during class, allowing children to move freely while learning in a well-maintained, family-friendly environment.
We encourage parents to not only watch their children in their kids martial arts lessons but to take pictures and video. We love parents getting involved! And so do their kids. Even better… join into some of our martial arts classes for adults. Your kids will love that you have something in common. It will build a strong family bond!
Not at all. You will find that martial arts classes are the PERFECT sport for kids who are not good at sport. Our classes get kids to be more co-ordinated which will help them if they ever decide to play other sports as well. Kids martial arts classes are an individual activity, that they do in a group.
The journey from white belt to black belt is different for each student. But what is the same…. They improve co-ordination, balance, motor skills, focus and discipline. Plus, they makes lots of great friends!
Our Instructors are highly skilled in teaching martial arts for kids. Really… It’s their PASSION!
